Chat October 16, 2007

[kenazfilan] Hello, everybody
[rattle shaker] Hey Kenaz!
[ouanga_bottle] Hi there!
[kenazfilan] Hey RS, Ouanga
[REDANGEL] I just need to vent for a sec before we start,
[rattle shaker] Fancy meeting you here.
[ouanga_bottle] heh heh
[rattle shaker] Welcome!
[REDANGEL] The girl that my hd is seeing is calling him by the pet name I
call him and posted it on facebook so I would see it. I’m so cranky right
now.
[ouanga_bottle] she’s obviously using a cheap shot to try to get your
goat, just ignore her!
[rattle shaker] Breathe, Red, breathe
[kenazfilan] Ouanga: I agree
[kenazfilan] when someone makes you angry, they make you give them power.
[REDANGEL] I know but still I know she did it on purpose
[kenazfilan] The more you let them get under your skin, the more power you
give them. It took me years to learn that one... as anyone who has ever
read some of my old flamewars will tell you.
[rattle shaker] Hey, now
[REDANGEL] Thanks guys it just makes me crazy.
[ouanga_bottle] Yes, breathe deeply and slowly, and don’t react.
[kenazfilan] The fact that she needs to goad you proves that you are
getting under her skin.
[rattle shaker] Just watch.
[kenazfilan] So the more she goads you, the more power she gives you.

[candelaria] Hi Everyone. Mambo is on her way. HEY KENAZ!!! WELCOME!
[rattle shaker] Hey Candi!
[REDANGEL] Very true, thanks love you all :p
[kenazfilan] Hey, Candelaria! Looking forward to meeting you in
Albuquerque. As is Harvey.
[ouanga_bottle] I can’t wait to meet you and Harv!
[kenazfilan] He showed up Saturday night at the end of a 3-day intensive
we held in Maryland. Unfortunately, several people had put offerings of
booze on the altar.
[REDANGEL] Anyone have a suitcase I could travel in??
[ouanga_bottle] Where in MD?
[candelaria] Looking forward to meeting you both, too!!
[kenazfilan] And it was a campground, so he was bored. When he showed up
on Friday he was staggering drunk
[kenazfilan] Ouanga: Darlington, Maryland.
[candelaria] Awwww, poor Harvey!
[kenazfilan] Sam! Good to see you.
[candelaria] There she is!!
[ouanga_bottle] awesome!
[kenazfilan] He offered some words of wit and wisdom, and a few more words
which were unprintable.
[kenazfilan] Friday = Saturday
[Mambo Sam] Hello everyone. Sorry, had a bit of a problem getting in
again. My AOL apparently has decided not to like the chat room! So off to
Explorer I went.
[Mambo Sam] :-D
[Mambo Sam] And hello!
[ouanga_bottle] Howdy mums!
[Mambo Sam] Howdy Ouanga.
[Mambo Sam] Hi, Kenaz, welcome.
[ouanga_bottle] hee hee
[kenazfilan] It’s good to see many names I recognize from the list
[Mambo Sam] You are our newest member, I think!
[kenazfilan] I just signed up today: I’ve been stupidly busy
[rattle shaker] Seems to be the norm lately
[Mambo Sam] Understandable. Welcome to our classes. We have tons of
transcripts backlogged that if you have time or desire you can glance over
to catch up with what we have been studying. :-D
[kenazfilan] What is the topic of tonight’s chat?
[Mambo Sam] We are picking up our lesson on Voodoo prayer beads that the
class is making.
[kenazfilan] Alas, I must be going! My partner needs the computer and my
laptop’s charger has died. I will try to be back later if I can
[Mambo Sam] Oh no.... We’ll be here for awhile.

[Mambo Sam] Okay, so has anyone made any progress with their prayer beads
or have any questions about them?
[rattle shaker] I had one come to mind earlier about making some for
someone else. Is that “possible”, to help them with something? Like a
health issue?
[Mambo Sam] Do you mean for them to use to pray with or for you to pray
for them or both?
[rattle shaker] To give them, that they can “use” too.
[Mambo Sam] Oh sure. You can make them for others to use. It can get a bit
complicated because you will need to give them the prayers and more or
less teach them how to use it. But, yes, you can make them for someone
else.

[ouanga_bottle] question
[Mambo Sam] Okay, go ahead Ouanga.
[ouanga_bottle] I’m excited I just got my beads in the mail while I was at
the wedding... but I have no clue about bead-making. Is it possible to
bring the beads with us and make it there, or will there not be time for
that type of activity?
[Mambo Sam] I don’t know that you would necessarily have time to do it
there — you might. But it really isn’t complicated. I mean a lot of the
time this is something that is quite primitive — 9 beads, a knot, a spacer
bead, a knot, 9 beads, etc. Leaving room to tie together at the end. Or
you can tie a few knots to leave “room.”
[Mambo Sam] I mean, you can get fancy, but fancy isn’t really necessary.
[ouanga_bottle] maybe I’m getting too worked up by looking at the beading
instructions that came with it, it’s way over my head... requiring a knot
beader, etc.....
[Mambo Sam] Simone... Help us here.
[simonegreenewpp] If only you had someone local who could help...
[ouanga_bottle] heh heh
[Mambo Sam] I mean I don’t do it that way — mine are all knots. And rough
hewn.
[ouanga_bottle] ha! Sorry, I just got in late last night. I’ve been out of
town for the last week
[Mambo Sam] I am not saying that one doesn’t want to make it beautiful,
but this is something to be used not viewed, if you know what I mean.
[Mambo Sam] Anyway, Simone, any tips that might be helpful to the group?
[Mambo Sam] And if anyone else is lost with this, please speak up.
[ouanga_bottle] Gotcha, that does help. It’s the perfectionist in me...
[simonegreenewpp] Yes, the knot between beads is a simple overhand knot.
[rattle shaker] Just use a needle that will fit through the hole in the
bead...
[simonegreenewpp] The only trick is to seat it right against the bead. I
learned it with small, round-nosed pliers. But tweezers may work, I’m
thinking of what people may already have around.
[ouanga_bottle] So by simple calculations, there will be 90 beads overall...
[rattle shaker] And a tassel
[ouanga_bottle] And some sort of clasp
[simonegreenewpp] No clasp. Just knot the ends together.
[Mambo Sam] You don’t need a clasp, it should be tied together. Simone, do
you have a set finished?
[simonegreenewpp] No, not yet — been a tad preoccupied. But I did eat
something tonight!
[Mambo Sam] Good.
[ouanga_bottle] (hugs)
[JamboJambo] Comment?
[ouanga_bottle] Ah, good to know, I think I got some clasp thing, but now
I see why that’s not necessary... duh
[Rowan586] I missed the first class on this so I am waiting for the
transcript from that class.
[Mambo Sam] Oh, thanks for mentioning that Rowan.

[Mambo Sam] Yes, JamboJambo.
[JamboJambo] Just thought I’d put what I plan to do out there if anyone
needs a suggestion?
[Mambo Sam] Sure. Just a minute, please.
[Mambo Sam] Okay, before I forget, and we will talk about Fet Ghede here
in a minute, those three transcripts are all together at
www.spellmaker.com/chatinformation/ChatTranscriptGhede07.htm

[Mambo Sam] Okay, now, JamboJambo, go ahead, please.
[JamboJambo] I’m kind of strapped with finances, but I really want to do
this. What I thought I’d do is take colored tissue paper with glue and
roll it into balls, let them sit to harden, then use a thicker quilting
needle and colored twine or thicker embroidery thread to thread them using
the thread an needle will actually allow for a lot more control with tying
and binding them along. If that makes sense? In theory this is going to
work just swell...... Hopefully, “in theory”, will work!
[rattle shaker] Wow!
[JamboJambo] Not to mention, I’m sort of a simple person and this suits me
well.
[Mambo Sam] Very nice! I think the homemade approach to that is very nice
and very much in line with what you are doing. I would be very honored to
take a look at them and hopefully consecrate them for you.
[rattle shaker] If you make your own beads, how much more energy will be
in them! I wish I was that crafty.
[JamboJambo] I was wanting to mail it in to you when I’m finished. Thank
you. I just wanted to remind everyone who might be feeling a bit
overwhelmed with the real beads and the fancy stuff, there are other
options..
[simonegreenewpp] But I bet you can do more with tassels.
[JamboJambo] Embroidery thread... I can make tassels. Anyway, that’s all.
Thanks.
[rattle shaker] Hey now
[Mambo Sam] For sure that whole idea of making your own beads will
certainly imbue what you are doing with a lot of energy.
[rattle shaker] From the get go! Good idea!
[Mambo Sam] Very nice, JamboJambo. Thank you for sharing that with us. And
people, hands up, please instead of just jumping in. Thank you.
[JamboJambo] Thanks

[Mambo Sam] Okay, so we have the idea of the beads. It is sort of the
equivalent of a catholic rosary or any of the other prayer beads from
other religions that we discussed. Of course, instead, it is dedicated to
the Lwa.
[Mambo Sam] And we have discussed how to use them.
[Mambo Sam] Before we get into a little bit more of discussing our ritual
together for Fet Ghede I do want to give you some of the prayers that go
with these beads. Now these are the basic prayers of New Orleans Cajun
voodoo. I had to translate some of it and I am still working on it.
[Mambo Sam] I haven’t been around Cajun speaking people for many years.
And trust me, Cajun French is NOT like French French. LOL. I mean some of
it is, but yikes.
[Mambo Sam] So I got through a few of the prayers.

[Mambo Sam] As we know, the first prayer is to the Baron.
[Mambo Sam] 1. Prayer to the Baron: Baron, ma cher (pronounced mah cher —
like Cher the singer). Basically, it is “Baron, My Dear” in Cajun. I ask
that you lift me up, do not let me touch the ground. Don’t let hands grasp
me and pull me down. Bury my problems where they cannot find me. Veil me
from my enemies so they cannot bind me. I have come to honor you and ask
your help with: : __________________________________________. Thank you!

[Mambo Sam] So all the prayers start basically with calling the Lwa “ma
cher” — which is “my dear” or “my love” — depending on who says it when.
Some of the prayers rhyme and some don’t. These are the prayers that were
used in my family.

[REDANGEL] ??
[Mambo Sam] Yes, Redangel.
[REDANGEL] Do you have to have the beads to say the prayers?? Or can you
incorporate them into your work
[Mambo Sam] LOL. Why you read my mind!!!!
[REDANGEL] : D
[Mambo Sam] I was just going to say that these prayers could easily be
used other ways and we can talk about that once I have them all to you!
[Mambo Sam] Tee hee.
[Mambo Sam] Good catch, redangel.
[REDANGEL] THANKS
[Mambo Sam] : D

[Mambo Sam] So we see in the first prayer and you will see in all the
prayers that there is room for a request or a petition. Sometimes though
you might just be praying to bring a peace about yourself or simply to
honor Les Lois. In that case, you don’t need to say the petition part.
Just continue on with the prayer. So, just as in the  Catholic rosary, you
will say that prayer multiple times — 9 in this case — for that particular
mystery of the prayer beads.
[Mambo Sam] Now, traditionally, even though we talked about always
honoring the partner of a Lwa if you know the partner, there is no
mention, for instance, of Brigitte in that prayer. It is my practice, but
I wouldn’t call it a “rule” to mention “honor to Brigitte” or something of
that nature if you want to.
[Mambo Sam] Or even to add a little line of your own making, especially if
the partner happens to be your Met Tet! ;-)
[Mambo Sam] Just as I was explaining that there is a lot of latitude for
usage of the prayer beads, there is latitude for the prayers and
petitions. I would consider this a basis for your prayers and usage of the
beads. But these are your beads and you should even feel free to write
prayers or add to these prayers.
[Mambo Sam] These are not “holy words set in stone!”
[Mambo Sam] I am sharing what I learned to use but I feel that many
different prayers could and should be used depending on what you feel you
have to say to Les Lois. The only thing I would truly consider set in
stone for these particular beads is the Lwa to whom you are making them —
at least for this first set. We can many sets for many different Lwa and
discuss that. But for now, this is our starting point!

[Mambo Sam] So questions about that prayer or anything thus far?
[ouanga_bottle] question?
[Mambo Sam] Yes, please go ahead Ouanga.
[PATRICKinCALI] ??
[Mambo Sam] And then Patrick.
[ouanga_bottle] Can Dantor be worked in as a partner to any of the 9? Like
Simbi Makaya? Or because Freda is already there, it’s best to keep them
separate?
[Mambo Sam] I think that is a bit of a stretch for this particular set of
beads. I would suggest that you make a chaplet, like Simone did, for
Dantor.
[kenazfilan] ??
[ouanga_bottle] A chaplet — I’ll have to look that one up!
[Mambo Sam] Simone can explain that to you.
[ouanga_bottle] thanks

[Mambo Sam] Patrick, then Kenaz. Please.
[PATRICKinCALI] Do we ask Papa to open the gate, Sign of the Cross...
anything before we start praying?
[Mambo Sam] Nope.
[PATRICKinCALI] Thanks!
[Mambo Sam] Remember, we were talking about this being a little bit
different. We go Baron first in this, and then Legba’s prayer is next.
[Mambo Sam] Yes, Kenaz, go ahead please.
[kenazfilan] It’s OK; I think my question was already answered.
[kenazfilan] This is very interesting: Mambo Sam is teaching you a really
useful technique here. I’m quite impressed. And I’m learning a couple of
things about Cajun Voodoo myself
[ouanga_bottle] Question, for clarification
[Mambo Sam] :-D  LOL. Oh there is lots to learn about that. I have been
sharing family techniques with these fine folks.
[Mambo Sam] Thanks, Kenaz.

[Mambo Sam] Yes, Ouanga, go ahead please.
[ouanga_bottle] We do all nine Lwas in a row, starting with Baron each
time, and do each one, or we are free to choose one we want to focus on,
and just do that one nine times?
[Mambo Sam] It is better to start in the order which I gave before and
then work your way around.
[simonegreenewpp] comment
[Mambo Sam] You can do some focus like you were talking about, but if you
want to be truly effective, it is worthwhile to do the whole thing. Does
that make sense?
[ouanga_bottle] But in one “session?” Or we can choose to just focus on
say, Erzulie Freda, at the time? I think I see... I was thinking it was
more multi-purpose, but now I see that you are evoking all nine mysteries
each time
[Mambo Sam] You can, but it might be better to do something else, light a
candle for her and petition her rather than do the beads. You might want
to reserve the beads for a time when you can truly do them.
[kenazfilan] comment
[Mambo Sam] They are very multi purpose.
[ouanga_bottle] thanks!
[Mambo Sam] But we will talk more about that once we get all of our
prayers down. Simone, then Kenaz.
[Mambo Sam] You are welcome, honey.

[simonegreenewpp] You would say the Baron prayer nine times, one for each
bead. The the Legba prayer nine times. Is there anything we say on the
spacer beads?
[Mambo Sam] Yes, that is correct, Simone. And I will give you the prayer
for the spacer bead. There is one, there is something funny about the way
I translated it and I need to look a little closer at that.

[Mambo Sam] Go ahead, Kenaz.
[kenazfilan] Vodou gains a lot of its power from its structure. It’s good
to do things the way you were taught.
[Mambo Sam] And that is a good point, Kenaz. We try to give a lot of
leeway in certain things, but structure, repetition, and sticking to it
builds a good foundation.
[kenazfilan] You can add stuff to an individual prayer, but it’s good to
preserve the order of the prayers, etc. In Haitian Vodou this is called
the regleman.
[Mambo Sam] Right, we want to do things in ceremonial order. At least as
much as possible.
[ouanga_bottle] question
[Mambo Sam] Thanks, Kenaz!

[Mambo Sam] Yes, Ouanga, go ahead, please.
[ouanga_bottle] Do we literally go from bead to bead, holding it in our
hand when we say each prayer? And does that mean when we get to Brigitte’s
or Ayida’s bead, we switch to a prayer for them? Or specifically nine
prayers for each Lwa, and then an “honor to Brigitte” at the end?
[Mambo Sam] If you are putting in the beads to honor Brigitte, and Ayida,
as we talked about, yes, you will say a prayer to them. (I wish you guys
would quit reading my mind!) I was going to tell you that there are
prayers for all of them.

[Mambo Sam] Okay... go ahead Rattle.
[rattle shaker] What about “All Ogouns are Ogoun”? Is there some way to
encompass them all with the beads & prayers? Or is it just Feraille that
is the focus?
[Mambo Sam] And yes, of course, all Ogouns are Ogoun (gee, you were paying
attention at the Lave Tet! LOL)
[Mambo Sam] Tee hee.
[Mambo Sam] For this, it is the Feraille aspect.
[rattle shaker] Can I share a bit about Ogoun that I have experience with?
[Mambo Sam] But what does that mean to all of you, “all Ogouns are Ogoun?”
So do you think that perhaps all aspect are getting a nod?
[Mambo Sam] Yes, of course, Rattleshaker, go ahead, please. Please do share.
[rattle shaker] You, and a few others, know about me & Ogoun at the Lave
Tet, and I have to second the comments about Ogoun. He has been close to
me ever since. When I read the prayer aloud, I got giddy and started
clapping myself on the upper arms. And, when I set up my altars and gave
him a machete, I had a dream that night of him standing at my bedside. He
is very appreciative and protective from what I have found. But I didn’t
know how to specify, or if I should, to which aspect of Ogoun I was
connecting.
[Mambo Sam] Oh it’s Feraille. Fer shure.
[Mambo Sam] ;}
[rattle shaker] Thanks!
[Mambo Sam] Yep. At the Lave Tet, you had some very profound experiences
and he was all over it.
[rattle shaker] Is that the Diplomat? or electricity?
[Mambo Sam] And it would not surprise me if one of your parents had Ogoun
as their Met Tet. We should definitely talk about that at the convention,
oh wait, that’s right you aren’t registered. LOL. I could not resist!
[ouanga_bottle] snort
[candelaria] comment
[Mambo Sam] Anyway, you did have very profound experiences at the Lave Tet
and the general was very much in presence.
[rattle shaker] Oh, I think we figured that out. I will show you pictures
of dad in his trench coat, and mom in her Elvira outfit
[rattle shaker] BTW, I may just show up with minutes notice...
[kenazfilan] comment
[Mambo Sam] LOL. Which is so crazy because the first time I connected with
your parents I saw them as Morticia and Gomez.
[Mambo Sam] LOL.

[Mambo Sam] Okay, Candelaria’s comment, then Kenaz’s please.
[candelaria] I honestly have had Ogoun standing by my bedside, since I was
a child and my mother was his child, so that could very well, be
Rattleshaker. He literally stands over me while I sleep, and I’m sure him
doing the same for you was telling you that he’s watching over you.
[rattle shaker] Hehe, It is Halloween time, their favorite!
[Mambo Sam] Right, Candi!
[Mambo Sam] And, yes, Rattleshaker, as I have commented before, for people
I never met in this life, your parents come to me like they are my own
ancestors!
[Mambo Sam] Crazy.
[rattle shaker] I saw it more as a “Thank You!” And, I’m protecting you.
[candelaria] Yes, I’m sure that’s what it was. He is with you.
[rattle shaker] Hehe, I don’t doubt it one bit from what I got at the Lave
Tet

[kenazfilan] If you are a woman, you get bonus points for working with
Ogoun Feraille, or any of the Ogouns. They all love women, and will all do
whatever they can to protect a lady or to help her out. They’re chivalrous
gentlemen that way.
[Mambo Sam] Yes, Kenaz, that is an excellent point!
[Mambo Sam] In fact, Kenaz, although you are new to our group, you may
have read Candelaria’s post quite some time ago about Ogoun getting her
out of a dangerous situation with an attacker.
[candelaria] Yep
[Mambo Sam] It was quite dramatic and scared the heck out of the attacker.
[kenazfilan] ayibobo Ogou!
[candelaria] He has saved my hash more times that I know, but that one is
for sure.
[Mambo Sam] And she knew it was Ogoun!
[kenazfilan] I know a man who is a child of Ogoun who was robbed in a home
invasion. They tried to shoot him but their guns wouldn’t work. Then Ogou
came into his head and grabbed a machete, cut one, the other one ran out
to his car.
[Mambo Sam] God, that is almost what happened to Candelaria!
[candelaria] I was almost raped and the attacker ran way.
[candelaria] After Ogoun got done with him, of course.
[kenazfilan] Which wouldn’t start. (Ogou also controls machinery). The guy
ran away from his house, tried to carjack another car. That one wouldn’t
start either. So he was sitting there trying to start it as the police
came.
[Happy] I love Ogoun
[candelaria] LOVE IT!
[Mambo Sam] LOL.
[kenazfilan] Ogoun is no joke when someone tries to mess with one of his
children.
[Mambo Sam] Yep.
[Mambo Sam] OR if you are related to someone who is his child.
[candelaria] As in my case.
[Mambo Sam] I just recently had an incident in the cemetery where Bob is
buried where I thought I was getting carjacked, raped, killed, or
something.... Of course, I am armed.
[candelaria] OH GOD, tell them about this!
[Mambo Sam] But Ogoun made sure that I could get to my gun. Because I just
wasn’t expecting it at 3:00 p.m. on a sunny afternoon. I will make it
quick, but I was visiting Bob’s grave and this idiot came up and starting
whining about my nice car (I chose the car over an engagement ring, so sue
me, it is nice, it’s a Thunderbird) And he told me that the cemetery was
full of dead people.
[Mambo Sam] duh
[Mambo Sam] And that you never know when you are going to be next! I
started to really panic, but then I remembered that I left my gun on the
passenger’s seat of the car. I felt this complete strength come over me
and I just felt Ogoun and Bob with me. And well, my Walther PPK which, by
the way, I dedicated to Ogoun
[Mambo Sam] :-D
[Mambo Sam] Anyhooo.... After a lot of back and forth with this idiot, who
chose to lean on the driver’s side of my door... And talk about who was
dying today, I suddenly felt a calm over me. And a strength. And just
pulled out my gun and pointed it straight at him and said “you first” when
he said again you never know if you are going to die today. He completely
freaked out and pressed himself up against a tree. I got in my car and
drove away feeling Ogoun and Bob with me the whole time.
[candelaria] My favorite way to view Ogoun is the old saying, “Shoot ‘em
all, let God sort ‘em out.” That’s very much his attitude.
[Mambo Sam] It was very enlightening to me, even with all I know and have
experienced.
[waitingforastar] WOW
[REDANGEL] You gave me goosebumps

[kenazfilan] I must depart, all. It’s getting late and I have work tomorrow.
[Mambo Sam] See you at the conference, Kenaz!
[candelaria] Bye Kenaz
[rattle shaker] Night Kenaz!
[waitingforastar] Bye Kenaz
[kenazfilan] It was a pleasure, and I hope I can make it next week. And I
look forward to seeing some of you in Albuquerque.
[Mambo Sam] Take care!
[kenazfilan] Take care, all.
[Mambo Sam] Okay it is getting late on the east coast, sorry!
[waitingforastar] I Don’t care, I’m a night owl, always up too late.
[Mambo Sam] I will put all the prayers in the transcript.
[rattle shaker] S ok
[Mambo Sam] So we can talk a little bit about Fet Ghede.
[Mambo Sam] Because we will not have class next week or the Tuesday after
the conference. So we need to finish up any questions that we have about
Fet Ghede and we will meet back here for the ritual together.

[PATRICKinCALI] ??
[Mambo Sam] Yes, Patrick.
[rattle shaker] ??
[Mambo Sam] Then Rattleshaker.
[PATRICKinCALI] Will this be in the scripts too, as I have to run as well.
[Mambo Sam] Yes.
[PATRICKinCALI] Great, night all
[Mambo Sam] Good night.

[Mambo Sam] Okay, Rattleshaker?
[Mambo Sam] Go ahead, please.
[rattle shaker] You know how I love some Fet Gede, I was wondering who on
the list has done one before.
[Mambo Sam] Anyone?
[waitingforastar] ?
[Mambo Sam] Well, this will be special!
[candelaria] I did a little something of my own last year.
[rattle shaker] Ok, well, it’s great!
[Mambo Sam] Yes, WFAS.
[waitingforastar] Fete Ghede is the Nov. 2 ritual?
[Desiree’] I too, did one on my own last year.
[rattle shaker] I had such a great time last year. Not everyone knows my
parents are “under the water,” but it was really something.
[Mambo Sam] Yes, Nov. 2.
[waitingforastar] Okie dokes
[candelaria] If they have been gone longer than a year and a day, they
aren’t under the water any more, my dear. :-)
[rattle shaker] I would suggest everyone go to a cemetery and clean off a
grave of someone you don’t know. And remember their name.
[Happy] I have to run, so my love to you Mambo, Brigit, Candi, spellmaker
friends and I hope everyone enjoys the conference. :-)
[Desiree’] Same time as usual on Nov. 2?
[Mambo Sam] Love you!
[waitingforastar] ?
[Mambo Sam] Okay, yes, so November 2.
[Mambo Sam] And that is a good suggestion, Rattleshaker! Assuming that you
don’t have a grave of someone you know!

[Mambo Sam] Yes, WFAS.
[waitingforastar] This may be off the topic slightly but, if you are in a
cemetery to visit a relative and you see your HD’S last name on a
headstone, is that a bad sign? Could it mean they will die?
[Mambo Sam] No, I would consider it a good sign if you saw their actual
name. And you did spell work on them.
[lavender] ??
[Mambo Sam] It is the perfect way to “say” their name to you!
[waitingforastar] Yes, actual last name only, spotted on my way to my
Grandma’s grave, and I have done some work, and about to embark on the
trio, need to talk to you BTW.
[Mambo Sam] Yes, Lavender. Go ahead.
[lavender] What if you saw your name? Actually first name
[Mambo Sam] Again, I think that it is not a bad sign at all.
[waitingforastar] Whew!! Oh good

[Mambo Sam] We tend to associate the cemetery with something negative,
death, but that isn’t always so. So just quickly, I put this already in
the transcript, but people have e-mailed me about what products might be
helpful during Fet Ghede.
[Mambo Sam] Obviously the purple bath for the Baron that is now available
for preorder. Also, the 7 knob black candle is something that is kind of
underused and can be used for Fet Ghede. The point of the 7 knobs is to
make a petition on each knob.
[candelaria] Comment
[Mambo Sam] So Fet Ghede, being the “new year’s celebration” of the
Vodouisant, you could use the candle to petition on each knob for
something that you want to go away or be removed so that you can start
with a clean slate!
[Mambo Sam] Yes, Candi, go ahead, please.
[waitingforastar] Ooh what a marvelous and applicable idea, thanks
[candelaria] A long time ago, when I cast the NOBM spell, I buried it in a
cemetery and the best place was a tree that I found near a curb. After
burying it, I found a stone with my HD’s name on it. I just took it as
Brigette’s way of telling me she was working on it. Not bad at all.
[Mambo Sam] LOL. Yep! For sure!!!!
[waitingforastar] Great to know Candi, thanks
[candelaria] You’re welcome.
[rattle shaker] <-- NOBM comment too
[candelaria] Mambo is right. Folks associate BAD with cemetery, but not
always so.
[Mambo Sam] So using that 7 knob black candle is an awesome way to remove
things and especially if you have a few things that you need to remove
from your life and get a clean start.

[Mambo Sam] Yes, Rattleshaker.
[rattle shaker] Where I buried my remains, I go by it occasionally, and
there is a little bush growing there.
[Mambo Sam] OH that is nice!
[rattle shaker] It’s actually getting pretty big, and I am surprised they
haven’t cut it yet.
[Mambo Sam] Oh even if they do, it is still such a good sign. I love that.
[rattle shaker] Me too
[candelaria] Love it, Rattle shaker. Yet another reason for you to join us
next weekend. heehee
[Mambo Sam] So another thing is this is a good time for a Vodouisant to do
the Clean Sweep kit — remember this is OUR new year!
[rattle shaker] OMG is it next weekend?!?!!!!!
[candelaria] No pressure, but BE THERE!
[ouanga_bottle] Please....
[simonegreenewpp] Pretty please!
[candelaria] Right. New Year, folks! Different from the Roman calendar and
from the Jewish calendar.
[rattle shaker] If I have to run away, and sleep in my truck, and crash
all the classes.
[candelaria] But oh so important, to Vodouisants.
[rattle shaker] I’ll snake my way there.
[candelaria] You better!!
[Mambo Sam] LOL. I am sure someone will take you into their room! LOL.
[candelaria] If you do, Candi might be persuaded to buy you a drink.
[Mambo Sam] But yes, it is our new year. So doing something like the clean
sweep is definitely in order.
[rattle shaker] You’re on
[candelaria] GOOD!!! I will even spring for something with an umbrella in
it. ;-)
[ouanga_bottle] How do umbrellas behave in a hurricane?
[Mambo Sam] Okay, so next time I will see you guys is at the Conference
and/or at Fet Ghede!
[candelaria] Love ya, Baby. We would be so glad to have ya.
[candelaria] Or both!
[Mambo Sam] Or both.
[rattle shaker] The get all inside out!
[waitingforastar] She may even tap dance for you with sparklers if you’re
nice
[Mambo Sam] Maybe.... You never know with that Candi girl.
[rattle shaker] Hahaha, I would love to see it
[Mambo Sam] Okay kids, love to you all, I have to run!
[candelaria] you never know!
[simonegreenewpp] Love you too — thank you!
[Destiny] Aww, already??!!
[rattle shaker] Last time it was 14 hours with strangers.......
[lavender] Love You Mambo
[Mambo Sam] I will get this transcript up quickly and check to see if
there is anything else you need to know for Fet Ghede!
[REDANGEL] Love you all, sweet dreams
[Mambo Sam] Love you!!!!!
[waitingforastar] Love to you too Mambo, time just goes way too fast
[Destiny] Love you Mambo, can’t wait to see you!
[ouanga_bottle] hugs and love to you dear, and to everyone
[Mambo Sam] Ditto.
[rattle shaker] Night!!! Love y’all!!!
[NOLAlives] Goodnight Mambo
[Mambo Sam] I can’t wait to hold each of you in my everloving arms!
[Mambo Sam] Kisses!
[Mambo Sam] Hugs!
[waitingforastar] Love you too Rattle
[Destiny] Good night everybody!

[candelaria] Just to warn you all, they are small arms. She’s a tiny
little girl, our Mambo is.
[waitingforastar] Good night Destiny xoxxo
[Destiny] XOXO to you too!
[waitingforastar] Oh then she must be my size
[candelaria] I’m sure she’s smaller.
[simonegreenewpp] See you at the hotel, Destiny!
[simonegreenewpp] Pocket Mambo.
[waitingforastar] I’m 5 feet
[candelaria] But she is mighty! Don’t let her fool you! I think she’s
under 5 ft.
[waitingforastar] Pocket Mambo
[waitingforastar] Oh you mean I have a whole inch up on her.
[Destiny] See you Simonegreene!
[waitingforastar] Us tiny people can pack extra might I tell you.
[Destiny] I am not quite 5 feet yet! LOL!
[waitingforastar] Yet?
[Destiny] I am still trying to reach the 5 feet
[candelaria] heehee Yep, she’s little, but she also has the wisdom and a
might that I can’t explain. My sister is 5 ft tall, but Mambo... I don’t
know. Simone knows what I mean.
[simonegreenewpp] Wow, 19 pages — stop talking!!! :-)
[Destiny] With Mambo it is true about dynamite. Small but powerful.
[waitingforastar] Yes
[simonegreenewpp] Ok, before we get poked with the pointy stick...
[candelaria] Ok, Folks. I always listen to Simone and when she tells us to
stop, it’s time to go.
[Destiny] Oh, no not the pointy stick! Good night
[candelaria] Pointy stick in place.
[candelaria] Night folks.
[candelaria] Simone has what she needs.
[simonegreenewpp] Well, no but I have the transcript...
