different?
[simonegreenewpp] Well, for the Get A Job Gris gris bag, I
was just doing the chant that came with it. I would say things afterward, but
not as forceful as I had written here. I also have a petition for my HD.
[Sister Candelaria] OK, and this is to go with your
gris-gris bag from that spell? OK, do you want to share what you can of that? I
would love to hear it.

[simonegreenewpp] Anyway, I wasn’t really sure how much or
what to add to the Get A Job Gris gris bag.
[Sister Candelaria] How do you feel about what you did? Or
what Papa gave you, rather.
[simonegreenewpp] Feel for me, (HD). For all the roaming and
looking around, you know there is only one (me). Your heart knows. Your heart
knows, (HD). Ignore the confusing thoughts, ignore the failed stubborn logic.
You want to heal. Let yourself heal.
[Sister Candelaria] What many don’t realize is that your
gris-gris bags from your spells are sort of an open portal to the Lwa that
helped you with that spell and also an open portal to the work itself, so you
can use them to speak to the work afterward, whether it be to speak to your HD
or to speak to a situation, such as Simone is doing. Very good work.
[simonegreenewpp] The second one focused more on HD’s
feelings rather than just me. I had targeted that before (and the healing). So
it was a bit different, but not a complete departure from my earlier petitions.
[Sister Candelaria] Very Good! Have you tried them yet?
[simonegreenewpp] I think the main thing with this work is I
still have a lot of fear and reluctance to sit quietly and ask for things.
[Sister Candelaria] Ah, there’s the rub, yes. ;-) But you
know that is something you have to work through.
[simonegreenewpp] I hear the Lwa talking to me other times
(like when shopping) :-) but don’t often ask for a specific thing.
[Sister Candelaria] Yes, and that can get in your way. I
know many of us are used to being proactive, but remember that just in doing
the work, you ARE being proactive. You are not being idle. This is not an easy
process.
[simonegreenewpp] I still need to try the one with the doll
or healing egg. Seems like it will work with both.
[Sister Candelaria] Yes, I can see it working nicely for
both. How did the GAJ one work for you? How did it feel?

[luke39] I didn’t exactly change my petition but it was
revealed that maybe I could use a story or parable type example to show him in
a less threatening way how I was feeling.
[sister bridget] wow! Can you explain a little more about
that?

[luke39] Well I was sitting there doing my writing exercise
and it just hit me that it would be a good way to show him by using other
people as examples, you know like I have this friend who has this problem... or
like in the Bible, so many times stories or parables are used to illustrate a
point.
[sister bridget] OH — kind of a side door approach!
[luke39] right
[sister bridget] neat! Have you tried it yet? How did it
feel?
[luke39] Not yet, actually we have been communicating better,
so I am saving it in case I might want to use it. But it really felt positive
when the idea came to me
[sister bridget] Excellent! Have you written out a couple of
examples ahead of time — you don’t have to share them here. But having them
ready ahead of time or writing them when you are calm and nothing is going
wrong, might be helpful

example ready.

[luke39] Not sure if it has made any difference but I have
kept Papa’s veve out on my coffee table for awhile so I feel like he is always
helping me with these problems

mind and asking for help ;-)
[luke39] Yes because I am still looking for a job as well
and I sit by the veve and sometimes I have gotten ideas just being in that
place.

[simonegreenewpp] Yes, I had one that I’ve used for a while
for healing. It was prompted by a reading with Mary, and I really ran with it.
It was helpful at times when it was hard to find words. :-) Perhaps I
don’t need to use it so much as a more direct approach now, but it was helpful
at the time.

asked for guidance from Legba and the next thing I knew I had written 6 pages,
very quickly, and when I read it, it was words I didn’t remember writing and
words I had never used.

[pamunkeyjo] Yeah. My petition for legal breakthroughs,
getting that money and my HD giving me attention like crazy, I give Papa in
return a good meal and some Cruzan coconut rum. You know I will give to get. I
will do my best starting with him—But do I need to give so much to get? I got
so used to doing something when I could just be simple and ask.
[Sister Candelaria] OK, so how is this different from what
you normally do?
[pamunkeyjo] I usually just chant, meditate but never do
anything active. This time I want to do something to bring it about or get in
good with Papa.
[Sister Candelaria] OK, so what you are saying is that now
you want to give Papa some service (food or gifts) and then ask? Sorry, I’m
just a bit confused. I am blonde folks, keep that mind. ;-)
[pamunkeyjo] Yes. I think that I oughta do something about
the situation rather than just expect for asking?
[Sister Candelaria] OK, I can see that. Did you read the
exercise?
[pamunkeyjo] How to write a petition?
[Sister Candelaria] Yes, how to write a petition asking Papa
to help us word it in the proper language to speak to those we mean to reach.
So, yes, I see that you want to give service and give something before asking,
but did you ask Papa yet, as laid out in the exercise? It’s Ok if you haven’t,
I’m just trying to nail down where you are. ;-)

is nothing wrong with asking and then giving service as stated in the exercise.
The relationship we have with the Lwa is a very give and take. They need us as
much as we need them. So, it’s OK to ask.

[Sister Candelaria] No problem. I’m not trying to single you
out, honey. This is for everyone! I know it’s hard to ask things sometimes and
we feel like we don’t have a right to at times, but you do with the Lwa.

[Sister Candelaria] But for everyone, you should never feel
badly about asking for what you want. First of all, it’s your birthright to be
happy and healthy and have the good things on life that you desire... Secondly,
the Lwa depend on us asking them for things. Because we ask, they survive and
they are here. So ask away!! They need us as much as we need them. Of course
give them service afterward, but asking is never a problem. Just ask! ;-)

[schweety] Question/comment/what have you :-) Well,
first of all, I am redoing my trio of love spells... so I haven’t really done
any adjunct work while focusing on the spells, other than I did add the part
after I invoke Papa in the spells to make sure my petitions are being
translated to my HD’s higher self..... So after I read the exercise I decided
to have a cocktail hour with just Papa you know to tell him my situation (like
he didn’t know anyway :)....then I picked up the paper to go with the flow,
asked him to write whatever would help me reach my HD. And I sit and I sit, and
then I hear in my head… its ok, what you have is working so my comment or
question is, am I bipolar or am I just that good *winks* or how else can I get
more…… I did this about 3 times and still got the same thing….. The only thing
that is different from my past petitions is after the Ogoun ritual I have made
them very “forceful.” More direct. My HD used to be in the military... so I
know I know I’m certifiable but any ideas :-)

[Sister Candelaria] Well, honey, I’m sure Papa can help, but
maybe what you are doing is fine for now. Also, you need to be sure that he
understands that you want him to speak to your HD in your HD’s language. That
is the key!
[schweety] Yes that is the one thing I have been adding
through all of it and I feel good about it.
[Sister Candelaria] OK, then good. I would say go with what
you have for now. Papa maybe telling you that it is fine for now and that you
should check back with him later.
[schweety] I’m that good :-) :-D
[Sister Candelaria] I know you have worked hard on your
petitions for the spell work, so that is good, I’m sure. When you’re done, just
ask with your love doll perhaps, what you can do to ENHANCE what was done with
the spell work. OK?

a lot of work on those petitions and Ogoun helped you, so for now things are
good. Check back with Legba in a little bit and see what he has to say. I’m
sure he will have some help for you when it comes to your adjunct work.

[luke39] I was just going to chime in to Schweety to say my
petitions haven’t changed that drastically either, maybe mine have been a
little more direct as well.
[Sister Candelaria] Right, so if your petitions don’t change
that much, that means that maybe you are already tapped into what your HD
needs. Now... the key is that the same old/same old gets, well... OLD! So the
good thing is that you can ask Papa to help you change things up... If you feel
that you are doing the same petition over and over again and you are getting
bored with it, so is your HD, I assure, so even though it is in our HD’s
language, it might need some tweaking. So use this as an on-going exercise. OK?
Do it from time to time to get things shaking.
[luke39] Well the cool part is that HD has given me some
clues as to what else to work on.

[Sister Candelaria] OH, that’s always great! And BTW, that
can also be Papa doing that. Papa is opening things up for you and revealing
them to you. Very nice!

and he understands action!! Now with Papa... the ritual will speak to him, in
that way that he likes to be approached.

to be. So the ritual will be similar in format, but different in feel. It will
be suited to Papa Legba. OK?

also really impressed that I wasn’t angry with them.

[mandee21] There were three nights that I was awakened at 2
a.m. each night with an incredible urge to do a love doll session. The first
few times I was too tired to get out of bed, so I kind of ignored it (bad I
know) so the 3rd night it happened, I remember having a dream and all of a
sudden all these dogs start to come out of no where and I was confused, and I
woke up suddenly with what sounded like someone yelling at me. I started to
fall asleep again when something yelled again, and then this time I kept
hearing this voice in my ear, like someone talking too close to an intercom...
a few minutes later, I woke up with a petition about HD, only I fell asleep
before I could write it down, but I am pretty sure this was Papa helping me

time try to get up. :-D But do the best you can. You can ask him to
repeat that to you, and he will. He’s very user-friendly that way. ;-)
